So...last night was spent being very, very ill. Not fun at all. The morning was spent with much confusion, since the rental guy never showed up to renew my contract on the car. After calling him, he seemed very unconcerned and simply told me to keep the car and that we'd work it out when I got back. Me, being anal retentive about renting things, was not happy with this. So I caught a few hours of sleep, then left for the Otago Peninsula. After getting uber-lost on my way out of Dunedin (f'ing one-way name-changing streets!), I drove on a very scenic road for about an hour before getting to my first stop - the National Royal Albatross Centre. $28 later I was on a tour with 7 Chinese folks, none of whom spoke English. The guide seemed very lost as to what to do with these people (since they couldn't understand any of his narrative), so spent the entire time talking to me. Which was great since he was a really hot Belgian immigrant. ^_~

After seeing an adorable baby albatross, I went to the Yellow-Eyed Penguin Reserve down the street. They have a pretty snazzy set-up (underground tunnels, hides, etc.) so we saw 5 penguins up close! It was really neat, but my camera sucks monkey-balls, so I doubt any of the photos will turn out --- it'll look like I was photographing ants, or something equally small.

I decided not to head on to Oamaru tonight, since it was already 6pm when I got back to Dunedin. Liz seemed pretty upset to see me, so I hope she wasn't angry that I didn't leave. I know I can be a bit much sometimes, so maybe she was looking forward to the "alone" time...? I even offered to make her dinner, but she just went to sleep immediately. I hope everything is okay.

Tomorrow I'm either waking up at the ass-crack of dawn to go see Blue Penguins in Oamaru, or I'm sleeping a little bit later and then driving the scenic route to Queenstown (again). My skydiving adventure is set up for Thursday at 2:30pm, so I think I'll just tool around the Queenstown area for the remainder of that day, do my skydiving the next day, then head on towards Te Amau (sp?) to go caving on Friday.

Yay adventure!
