My friends entered a video submission of their house to possibly be on the DIY Network's show, "Desperate Landscapes."  Amazingly enough, it looks like they might have an actual shot at it, so if y'all would be willing to help them out and vote for their house, that would be great. [they really do desperately need it]

Well, my phone line was dead for a few days, which meant no internet.  I called AT&T and they promptly told me that it must be my fault, since their computer at galactic headquarters showed no errors in the phone line.  I said some very unladylike things and told them to come fix my damn phone line.

They sent someone two days ago.  This guy was so aggravating.  He didn't even bother checking the outside line before ringing my doorbell and asking to check the connection in the house (aka - it's obviously something YOU did wrong).  Of course, there was nothing wrong inside.  So he checks the outside connection (where the line enters the house)...still nothing.  Then, he traipses down to the telephone poll near the entrance to my drive way....still nothing.  WTF?

And there is OBVIOUSLY still something wrong, since I have no dial tone on one of my two landlines.


THREE people show up today to fix the line.  Turns out, they had to dig up portions of the cable (it's buried) and periodically test the line down the whole length of my road (1 mile).  They found two corrupted areas and replaced them.  BINGO!  My phone works again.  Take that, bitches!  Next time I call saying that my line is dead, please take my word for it, since it had NEVER been my fault.  Ever.


Thus, there was internet connection again. :)

Fucking job interviews. No one wants to travel TEN HOURS round trip just to sit in an office in downtown Chicago for less than 3 hours. >_<
