back from my mini-adventure

Liz and I are back from our 5-day mini tour of the South Island! We saw kiwis! But no whales. :( We hiked the Franz Josef Glacier, but did not go zorbing. I did not go skydiving, but might go back to Queenstown in a few days to try again.

Tomorrow I head off ON MY OWN to go see penguins and albatrosses in Oamaru. Then I'm going down to Fiordland to see glow-worms and gorgeous scenery. If I have time, I'm stopping back in Queenstown to go skydiving and pick up more weird shit at the Lord of the Rings store (yes, I'm a geek)

Tonight Liz, Anjali (another Mawrtyr) and I are going to watch the National Geographic documentary on the Lord of the Rings...ah geekdom.

I just signed up to go skydiving on Thursday. Twelve thousand feet. I must be nuts. I can't believe I just paid to voluntarily jump out of an airplane. In a foreign country.
